This course provides an introduction to the western artistic and cultural tradition and provides students with knowledge of and practice in the skills necessary to make art a greater part of everyday life. In addition to learning to recognize and explain art from the major periods and styles in the western tradition, students also practice describing and refl ecting upon their experience of particular works, and investigate the creation of art.
