Maternal/Newborn Nursing This course examines contemporary nursing of the childbearing family through normal antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum experiences. It provides an overview of complex health problems and high-risk complications for mother and newborn. Includes a clinical inpatient component in the neonatal nursery, postpartum, labor and delivery, and neonatal intensive care settings. Observational experience in the community setting to promote the teaching and learning of the childbearing family will also be included. Prerequisites: ASN 200, 210, 215, and concurrently with ASN 220.
