This transition course serves as a bridge between nursing practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and professional nursing practice as a licensed Registered Nurse (RN). Emphasis is placed on the hallmarks of professional nursing practice and the ethical and legal dimensions of the role of a Registered Nurse. The role of the professional Registered Nurse is examined within the context of contemporary healthcare delivery systems. The Registered Nurse's (RN's)role and communication within a multidisciplinary health care team in the care of diverse populations is emphasized. Prerequisite: Admission to the ASN program.
