This course explores the associate degree study of psychiatric mental health nursing, including mental health concepts, nursing interventions, psychiatric disorders, nursing of special populations, and nursing through the lifespan. The associated clinical component includes experiences in acute and outpatient mental health settings. Clinical specialties also include an observational experience in a chemical dependency center and inpatient mental health settings for children, adolescents, and adults. Prerequisites: ASN 200, and concurrently with ASN 210.
