The first semester course is designed to provide introductory studies to the entry level nursing student. Incorporated are the necessary skills, knowledge, and behaviors needed to become an asset in the profession of nursing. The curriculum includes fundamentals in nursing practice, beginning medicalsurgical care, lab values and correlations, basic concepts of pharmacology, geriatrics, legal and ethical aspects of the professional nurse, the ideas of holistic care and teamwork, to benefit all patients are discussed. Prerequisites: Admission to LPN program. 13 credits.
