This is an introductory course, which is designed to strengthen the individual student's awareness of the history and techniques of the craft of painting. This course will develop the student's technical and observational skills. The student will concentrate on the essential elements of painting; its materials, methods and craft. This course will develop the student's understanding of brushwork, composition and color. Students will learn painting terminology and the importance of dialog in the creative process. Prerequisites: ART 115 and ART 120 or Division Chair's permission.
