This course introduces the non-electronics student to the basic concepts of D.C. and A.C. electricity. All topics of D.C. circuits are covered, including current flow, voltage, power and resistance, Ohm's Law, complex circuits and magnetism. In A.C., coils, capacitors, transformers, and their associated formulae are introduced. Three-phase voltage is also discussed. This course will enable the student to gain an understanding of the essentials of electricity and electrical power. (4, 3, 3) Prerequisite: Basic Algebra test Score and/or acceptance into the Electrical Apprentice program.
