Includes topics such as civil liability, legal aspects of discipline, Civil Rights Act of 1991, equal employment opportunity law, ADA, right to privacy, etc. Additional topics may include grant writing, sexism, protection from discrimination, principles of supervision, organizational communications, rapidly occurring changes in law enforcement, internal affairs, and/or disciplinary practices in criminal justice. 3 credits.
