Provides the student with an introduction to automotive engines, the use and care of hand tools, precision tools, special tools and equipment. Construction and theory of operation with attention to engine components are included. In addition, cooling and lubrication of modern engines as well as preventive maintenance and use of shop and flat rate manuals are covered. Safety is emphasized. OSHA standards and safety are emphasized. 6 credits.
