Prerequisite: (R) (W) (M) RC 1124, RC 1253, RC 1312 2 CREDITS This course is designed for the student to develop knowledge of the advanced diagnostic procedures necessary to perform comprehensive pulmonary function testing in the clinical setting. This includes performance and interpretation of spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion and assisting the physician with performance of bronchoscopy. The student will demonstrate an understanding of these procedures through hands-on lab experiments. The student will also develop a basic understating of the concepts of cardiac and exercise testing as well as a brief overview of polysomnography. The student will be able to relate these testing procedures to the diagnosis of cardiopulmonary disease.
