Prerequisite: (R) (W) (M), Corequisite: NANO 2133, CS 1333 or CS 1343 or Permission of Instructor 5 CREDITS Students will learn to synthesize and characterize nanomaterials and nanostructures using basic nanotechnology tools and techniques. Characterization techniques will include analysis of mechanical, electron transport, magnetic, and/or thermal properties. Synthesis techniques will include basic precipitation, devitrification, condensation, electrodeposition, and/or mechanical methods. Students will also learn proper methods for data collection, archiving, and reporting.
