Prerequisite: Pre or Corequisite: ENGL 1113 or Evaluation by Instructor Students will survey the history of Latin America, focusing on indigenous inhabits, their interaction with Europeans, especially the Spanish and Portuguese, the colonization process, independence movements and current economic, political and cultural issues. Course materials include textbooks and novels that relate the histories of the area as well as journal articles, websites and other sources. Student assignments will be submitted electronically.
