2 credits Students will study and perform improvisation in jazz styles. Focus will also be on elements of jazz theory as they relate to jazz improvisation. Jazz standards, melodies, and chord progressions will serve as the focus of study. Students will improvise, transcribe solos and memorize jazz 'heads.' Music fundamentals or instructor approval required.
