4 CR. An introductory study of the classification and function of blood cells and clotting proteins in health and disease. Major topics include cell identification, anemias, leukemias, hemostasis and thrombosis, and urine and body fluid analysis. The laboratory portion of this course covers methods used in routine examinations of blood cells, hemoglobin, coagulation factors, and urine and other body fluids. Prerequisites: Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II.
