3 CR. Students will explore a variety of manual bookbinding techniques to create one-of-a-kind books, including oriental bindings, accordions and Coptic bindings. The use of adhesives will be discussed and practiced. Students will also investigate bookbinding as a craft and fine art and will discuss books as both functional and artistic objects.
