3 credits (Fall Semester) This course will introduce students to the fundamental economic properties required to understand the interac-tions of space and capital markets impacting real estate markets today. Both micro and macro economic factors that directly or indirectly affect the real estate market are explored. Students will gain first-hand knowledge of the various economic indicators and interpret how they impact present and future real estate sales. Federal Reserve policy will be addressed as it relates to the availability of funds in the capital markets. The economics of real estate will be discussed in the context of residential, office, and industrial properties.
