(Prerequisites: BIO 2511 & 2513, BIO 2521 & 2523; MET 1323, MET 1413, & MET 1423) This course covers techniques of the clinical laboratory including competent use of the microscope, and understanding of the theory and knowledge of the common laboratory tests performed in the physician's office. Develops proficiency in laboratory and quality assurance procedures including collection, preparation and processing of specimens, urinalysis, hematology, and biopsy, as well as accurate reporting of test results commonly performed in a physician's office. (3 hr lecture, 2 hr lab)
