5.00 credits (5.00 lec) This course introduces the skills and strategies necessary for understanding a variety of written materials. Students will learn to identify main and supporting details in nonfiction, increase their reading rate and comprehension, and analyze features of fiction. In addition, they will build vocabulary using a variety of strategies. Must be taken pass/no credit. Prerequisite: Placement into ESOL 0032.
