The intent of Introduction to Stage Directing is to study the principles, procedures, and practices of stage direction. Students will learn how to select, analyze, and conceptualize a play script. They will learn how to research the text and develop a prompt book for rehearsal. They will learn the basics of staging through a variety of exercises in which they will direct and be directed by their classmates. Finally, they will cast, rehearse, and present a ten minute play of their choosing for public performance. Prerequisite: THR 115 and THR 120 with a grade of "C" or higher or DivisionChair's permission.
