This is a nutrition course based on the principles of normal nutrition throughout the life cycle. In addition to learning about the basic nutrients, the ingestion, digestion, absorption, and metabolism of foods are studied. Emphasis is also placed on the social, economic, and cultural aspects; students review the nutritional status of individuals and populations using nutritional assessment techniques as well as devise plans for maintenance or restoration of nutritional health.
