2 hours credit. Prerequisites: MU 160 with a C or better. This course will enable the student to refine the skills of rhythm, pitch, intonation, kinesthetic sense, aural acuity, scales, music reading and phrasing. Through private lessons with an applied instructor, the student will gain a solid foundation in the basic techniques of playing the instrument; will experience a variety of music while gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of music in general.
