Six-inch schedule 40 and 80 pipe is used in the skill development of pipe welding procedures in accordance to AWS, ASME, and API standards. Two- to three-inch pipe in both schedule 40 and 80 is used to develop skills on smaller pipe. The student learns the importance of proper pipe preparation and fit-up in accordance to AWS and ASME standards.
