Credits: 4 This course is designed to introduce the student to the most commonly used ophthalmic devices, and the physical make-up of these devices. This includes single vision lenses, spectacle frames, and bifocal lenses, with special emphasis on how these devices are produced. Also included is an introduction to fabrication of lenses, developing a basis for layout, blocking, grinding, and verification procedures. (3 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory)
