Examines practical aspects of selected concepts in biology and their application to technology. Concepts may include heredity, growth, development, and ecology. Human systems may be studied as they relate to the major topics. Emphasis will be placed on the relationship of the issues to the individual and society. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Placement Test, or English 100 with a grade of C or better, or Consent of Department Chairperson. 3 lecture and 2 lab hours per week. 4 credit hours.
