This course is an in-depth study of the procedures and concepts used by EPA to investigate sites. Emphasis is on hazardous waste at controlled and uncontrolled sites. The course will include the investigation of ground water, surface water, air, and soil contamination including health and risk assessments. This course is designed for students interested in the fields of environmental engineering and environmental science. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Environmental Technology 121 and Environmental Technology 131. 2 lecture and 4 lab hours per week. 4 credit hours.
