This course will train personnel responding to hazardous materials emergencies on the requirements outlined in the appropriate OSHA regulations and NFPA standards for Levels I, II, III. The emphasis is on hazard and risk assessment, safety, basic chemistry, personal protective equipment, spill containment and confinement, decontamination, and incident record keeping and reporting. This course will satisfy the requirements for Emergency Response Levels I, II, and III training. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. 150 minutes per week. 3 credit hours.
