PREREQUISITE: Requires college-level reading. Introduces the student to the recognition of possible fire sources and emergency procedures in the event of a fire, as well as an in-depth study of fires and the construction techniques of eliminating fires. This course includes: history of fires, types of extinguishing agents and detecting devices, construction techniques, extinguishing systems, and detecting systems. National Fire Protection and Occupational Safety and Health Standards will be stressed. Clock Hours: 45 (LEC)
