This course will familiarize the student/ropeway mechanical maintenance apprentice with gears and gear arrangements; major tasks involved in gearbox overhauls; basic principles associated with moving loads; proper use of devices designed to lift and move loads; and the various types of ladders and scaffolds that enable personnel to work at heights. Students must be employed as a ropeway maintenance apprentice or a ropeway mechanic/electrician. Clock Hours: 45 (LEC)
