(Corequisite: MET 1323) The purpose for this course is to acquaint the student with different types of insurance, including disability, Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare-Medicaid group plans such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services (CHAMPUS). Practical approach to insurance billing, basic medical and insurance abbreviations, terminology, ICD-9-CM and CPT coding will be presented. (3 hr lecture, 2 hr lab)
