This course consists of the reading of representative Spanish novelists and playwrights of the Romantic and Realistic periods. It is not intended to be a survey course but rather an introduction to the reading of simple texts in Spanish. All class work is conducted only in Spanish. Discussion of works, reading and written reports on authors and trends are stressed. Humanities credit. Prerequisite: FL 101 (DD)
