A short course in organic chemistry primarily for health science and medical technology majors. A survey of the different classes of organic compounds found in both the aliphatic and aromatic series with emphases on structure, nomenclature and reactions. The laboratory will emphasize the development of skills to identify different organic compounds. Lecture and laboratory. Prerequisite: CH 110 (Lab fee) (DD) NCMC offers Early Childhood Education courses to prepare students to work as paraprofessionals in the child care field. Course work is designed to meet the educational component needed for eligibility to apply for the Child Development Associate (CDA) through the CDA National Credentialing Program. The prescribed course sequence also meets Missouri Division of Family Services requirements for the supervisor of day-care centers. These courses are not designed to transfer.
