Prerequisite: None This course is designed to help students obtain the skills they need to succeed in college courses that are reading intensive. This course serves those students who do not feel comfortable with their present reading skills or those whose test scores show inadequate skills. A student receiving 54 or less on the COMPASS Reading Placement Assessment is required to take this course. Basic Reading I will focus on three of the five components of reading; fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.
