4 credits This course provides an overview of the fundamentals of investments for individuals. Topics include risk/return relationships, economic indicators, characteristics of fixed income securities, stocks and derivatives, fundamental and technical analysis, taxation of investments and mutual fund evaluation. Students should have basic proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel; and math skills including fractions, decimals, ratios, and simple algebra. May be offered through Distance Learning.
