2 credits NUR 100 provides an overview of introductory concepts basic to contemporary nursing. Topics include nursing history, current nursing education and scope of practice, nursing roles, patterns of health care delivery, cultural diversity, and therapeutic communications. Concepts of health, individual biopsychosocialspiritual needs, nursing process, and legal and ethical responsibilities are explored. Emphasis is placed on the role of the nurse in the delivery of health care. This course is not required for the Nursing Program, nor does its completion yield points toward admission. Offered through Distance Learning.
