1 credit A course designed to improve diver understanding of emergency situations in diving. The course covers self-rescue, diver stress, first aid equipment, diver tows, dealing with both a panicked and a passive victim, in-water artificial respiration, equipment removal, and non-swimming assists, among other subjects. The course includes classroom as well as pool exercises and open water evaluations. Students must have beginning and advanced scuba or equivalent, and be CPR certified.
