4 credits This course is designed to increase a student's understanding and implementation of effective interpersonal skills and behavior. The goal is to better understand one's self, others, and the role of communication in achieving and maintaining satisfying relationships in a variety of contexts, and to be able to transfer these skills/understanding to professional, social, and intimate relationships. Knowledge and skill building are used to enable improvement with special attention given to verbal/nonverbal communication, self-concept, perception, culture/gender differences, relationship development and conflict management. May be offered through Distance.
