4 credits This course is designed to help students learn to express their ideas to a public audience with confidence and clarity. The aim is to aid students in speaking in public by preparing presentations for use in various contexts to varied audiences on a variety of occasions. At a minimum, students will learn how to speak in the following contexts: informative, persuasive, and epideictic. In addition, students will learn to become critical listeners by analyzing others' presentations and identifying both effective and ineffective components of public speaking.
