4 credits This course offers the study and practice of the principles of voice production and the articulation of Standard American English, with attention to elementary speech physiology and phonetics. The course trains students to analyze and modify sound production. It is intended to serve students who desire to develop more effective speech and to meet the special needs of teachers, performers, radio and television speakers, public speakers, those who speak English as a second language, speech pathology majors, as well as others who seek to optimize their vocal competence.
