A hands-on computer course designed for students to learn and apply basic tax concepts in the preparation of federal income tax returns. Students will analyze various taxpayer scenarios, calculate the amounts to input and decide which tax forms to be used. This course may be used as a business elective for the Accounting A.S. program, and may also be used as an elective for the Liberal Arts A.A. program. (15 lecture hours) Rec Preparation: MATH 1B or equivalent; and ENG 21 or ENG 22 or equivalent or concurrent enrollment; concurrent enrollment in ACC 134, experience in preparing manual tax returns and BUSN 121.
