A practical introduction to the theory of stored program digital computers. Students are taught flowcharting, documentation techniques and the use of a programming language to solve various scientific and business-oriented problems. The emphasis is on basic concepts and functional characteristics in the design and development of computer programs. Prerequisite: ENG 21 and MATH 83 with a C or better or equivalent. Rec Preparation: ICS 100.
