This course will present the behavioral skills and techniques of assertion as well as the philosophy and theoretical background related to assertiveness. Students will develop a self-management plan and practice giving assertive responses. After mastering techniques, students will learn to observe and analyze unassertive behavior in others and give training and reinforcement in more effective behavior. Prerequisite: ENG 21 or ENG 22 with a grade of C or better or equivalent.
