This course is designed for people interested in pursuing work as a substance abuse counselor. The course material will cover the counseling process used in the substance abuse field. This course will focus on prevention, intervention and the treatment process as it specifically applies to the substance abuse population. Ethical and legal issues affecting substance abuse counselors will also be identified. Prerequisite: ENG 22 and HSER 268 or consent of instructor.
