This course explores questions of whether war is an inevitable part of the international system, whether it is a desirable part of the system, or whether it can or should be abolished. Is war a moral question, an economic question, or a question of psychology or politics? What alternatives are there to nuclear deterrence and war? What are the conditions of a peaceful world? (DS) Rec Preparation: ENG 21 or ENG 22 with a grade of C or better or equivalent.
