An introduction to Hawaiian marine animals and plants, their ecological relationships, structures and systematics. Various shallow water habitats on O'ahu, including tidepools, mudflats and coral reefs, are explored on field trips. Class meets for 3 hours of lecture and 3 hours of laboratory or field work per week. (DB) Prerequisite: ENG 21 and ENG 22 with a grade of C or better or equivalent. Three lecture and three lab hours per week. Rec Preparation: ZOOL 101.
