An interdisciplinary introductory course which looks at the gender roles and relationships between women and men and among women, historically and in contemporary societies. Examines the social, cultural, historical and political influences on the status of women. Present women's experiences from diverse backgrounds, social structures, and cultures. (Leeward CC offers PSY 202, Psychology of Women, which is cross-listed as Women Studies 202 at UH Manoa.) (DS) Rec Preparation: ENG 21 or ENG 22 with a grade of C or better or equivalent.
