This course covers the operation of the TCP/IP standard and related protocols. The class will cover underlying components and protocols that make up the Internet. TCP/IP will be covered as well as the services that are provided by the Internet. Tools used to navigate and access information on the Internet will be studied. Demonstrations will be given on some of the more popular Internet navigation tools used today, such as Internet Explorer and Netscape. Methods used to gain access to the Internet will also be covered. Prerequisite: ICS 184 or consent of instructor.
