A combined lecture and laboratory course that covers carbon chemistry, bonding structure and behavior, aliphatic compounds, stereochemistry, and reaction mechanisms. Labs associated with this course acquaint students with important manipulations and procedures and the preparation and study of organic compounds being introduced in lecture. Prerequisites: CHE 1211/1213 or 1214 and CHE 1221/1223 or 1224. 3 hours lecture, 3 hours lab.
