In Nursing 1210, the student will use theory and critical thinking to apply the nursing process in developing a plan of care for clients in normal and abnormal maternal/ newborn care, pediatrics, women's health and during acute and chronic phases of medical disorders/diseases processes. In the classroom, the student will engage in active learning activities utilizing different learning styles. The student will continue to incorporate developmental stages and Maslow's Theory of Basic Human Needs in providing nursing care. Lab and clinical will focus on building new skills from the units of study. The student will have an increasing responsibility for his/her own learning and to become a moral and ethical decision maker. Clinical areas include hospitals, clinics, community agencies and the college laboratory. 6 hours class, 12 hours clinical. Prerequisites: NUR 1110 and previous or concurrent enrollment in ENG 1113 English Composition I. Concurrent enrollment in NUR 1200.
