This course is designed to teach lifeguard candidates the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Prerequisites: The student must be at least 15 years of age and pass a 500 yard swim test using the front crawl stroke and breaststroke. Also, they must be able to swim 20 yards, retrieve a brick off of the pool bottom, and return 20 yards with the brick. Swimsuit and fee required.1 hour lecture, 2 hours lecture and lab
