This course is a continuation of the study of principles of ICD-9-CM coding; introduction to coding with Health Care Financing Administration's Common Procedure Coding Systems (HCPCS) with emphasis on Current Procedural Coding (CPT); and review of current reimbursement mechanisms. Prerequisites: BIO 2513/2511 Anatomy & Physiology I with lab, BIO 2523/2521 Anatomy & Physiology II with lab, HIT 2423 Pathophysiology II and HIT 2614 Coding Systems I. 3 hours lecture, 4 hours lab.
